Manual of Capillaroscopy
13 Mayo 2017
Capillaroscopy is an indisputable technique in the study "in vivo" of microcirculation.
Its applications gradually grew until it became an indispensable test in patients with Ray-naud phenomenon and also play a leading role in the diagnostic approach mainly in the early stages and prognosis of Systemic Sclerosis.
Despite the growing interest in capillaroscopy, an inexplicable discrepancy between its potential applications and its limited use in rheumatologic clinical practice is still palpable.
This discrepancy is not surprising since there are few imaging methods such as capillaroscopy, which can boast numerous virtues such as low cost, non-invasiveness, repetitiveness, high sensitivity, specificity and easy interpretation of its findings.
