Panlar commemorates Pan American Rheumatology Day
On May 31st, the Pan American League of Rheumatology Associations (Panlar) celebrated Pan American Rheumatology Day in honor of the birth of Anibal Ruiz Moreno, one of the fundamental driving forces behind Panlar in its early years of foundation. On this occasion, Panlar carried out a significant campaign under the hashtag #FreeThePain, mobilizing rheumatologists, patients, and social media users in a powerful show of support and awareness.
The campaign involved rheumatologists sharing on Panlar's social media platforms why they chose rheumatology as their specialty and how they, from their profession, help relieve patients from pain to make the burden lighter. It was a space where specialists shared their experiences, knowledge, and dedication to the care of patients with rheumatic diseases.
Here is the list of videos shared on our digital platforms:
But participation was not limited to doctors alone. Users and patients also joined in, sharing their own messages on how they face pain every day and how they find ways to free themselves from the effects of rheumatic diseases. This display of solidarity and strength was moving and served to create an environment of mutual support and understanding within the community.
At the end of the day, Dr. Miguel Albanese, president of Panlar, expressed gratitude to all who joined in commemorating Pan American Rheumatology Day. He highlighted the commitment to continue working from Panlar for impactful, inclusive, and equitable rheumatology, reaffirming the organization's dedication to improving the quality of life for patients with rheumatic diseases.
The commemoration of this special day was a reminder of the importance of freeing pain and alleviating the burden faced by patients with rheumatic diseases. Panlar, together with healthcare professionals and the community at large, will continue to work tirelessly to advance the field of rheumatology, promoting equal access to medical care and providing support to those who struggle with these conditions.
The Pan American Rheumatology Day was a moment of union, inspiration and hope for all those involved in the fight against rheumatic diseases.
